Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Deep Tissue Massage - 60 Mins.

During a 60-minute deep tissue session your therapist uses slow, firm strokes and focused pressure to release adhesions. Expect targeted work, occasional discomfort, and ongoing communication. We'll assess problem areas, adjust pressure, and finish with stretches and aftercare advice.

Some pressure and brief soreness can occur, but it should never be unbearable. We customize intensity to your tolerance and stop if pain is sharp. Communicate during treatment so the therapist can ease pressure or switch techniques for comfort and safety.

Many clients feel immediate loosening and reduced stiffness, while deeper changes often emerge after several sessions. Healing of chronic adhesions and long-term flexibility typically require a short series of treatments combined with stretching, hydration, and home care.

Frequency depends on condition severity. For acute issues, weekly sessions for three to six weeks are common; maintenance may be every four to six weeks. Your therapist will recommend a tailored plan based on pain, activity level, and progress.

Deep tissue massage isn't appropriate for some conditions. Avoid treatment with active infections, blood clots, uncontrolled hypertension, recent surgery, or certain cancers. Pregnant clients should consult a physician. Always disclose medical history so we can adapt or refer you safely.

You can undress to your comfort; therapists use professional draping to expose only the area being worked. Wear undergarments if preferred. Remove jewelry and arrive hydrated. Communicate any sensitivity so pressure and covering can be adjusted for privacy and comfort.
